（This book was listened to on audible。com） I am a fan of Bishop Jakes and was looking forward to this book especially since it's dealing with women and prayer。 It was obvious that the first two women were going to be Hannah and Mary。 Now I listen to audible on my way to work。 This morning was chapter 2 and it was Mary。 I haven't the slightest idea how he went from talking about Mary to talking about COVID-19 and statistics。 This was uncalled for。 Listening to or reading books is an escape for me （This book was listened to on audible。com） I am a fan of Bishop Jakes and was looking forward to this book especially since it's dealing with women and prayer。 It was obvious that the first two women were going to be Hannah and Mary。 Now I listen to audible on my way to work。 This morning was chapter 2 and it was Mary。 I haven't the slightest idea how he went from talking about Mary to talking about COVID-19 and statistics。 This was uncalled for。 Listening to or reading books is an escape for me。 I don't want to hear about COVID-19 or statistics in the black community。 （No offense; I am a mixed minority woman myself。） He talked about it for a good while。 Too long for me at least。 Because of this I didn't finish the book and requested my credit back。 。。。more

When women prayThis was the first book besides the Bible I have read in awhile and it definitely did not disappoint。 Ten out of ten！

Couldn't get past the first chapter。 There are some great truths in it， but there are also some mis-truths。 The author spends a few pages reminding us that you can't twist God's arm into giving you what you want by using special prayers or phrases or having other people pray for you， but then the next page says that you can "unlock" God's blessings through prayer。 What about all the persecuted Christians。。。。。 They're not praying enough？ Come on。Then in the final pages of the chapter， the author Couldn't get past the first chapter。 There are some great truths in it， but there are also some mis-truths。 The author spends a few pages reminding us that you can't twist God's arm into giving you what you want by using special prayers or phrases or having other people pray for you， but then the next page says that you can "unlock" God's blessings through prayer。 What about all the persecuted Christians。。。。。 They're not praying enough？ Come on。Then in the final pages of the chapter， the author strongly suggests that if you can't have a baby， pray for one and God will give it to you bc His desire for you is new life。。。。uh。。。。。so if my wife can't get pregnant， it's bc she's （we're） not praying enough？ Pack your bags， we're going on a guilt trip。 Maybe God's will for us is that we are refined through the trial of the unmet desire of not having children。 。。。more
